About
Be Well BR Counseling was started by me: Sarah Mecholsky Tipton. I am a licensed professional counselor in Louisiana with a Masters in Community Counseling from LSU and a passion for treating every person in this community and world with compassion and respect.
I see counseling as a collaborative process where I work together with you to explore and define the present problem situations. I value the insight and perspective each of my clients bring to the therapy room, since each person provides invaluable insights into their own life. I take a person-centered approach and will employ an eclectic counseling style, dependent on what each client needs.
I have worked with adults, adolescents, and LGBTQIA individuals with diverse backgrounds addressing mental illness, trauma, personality disorders, addictive disorders, transition counseling, and counseling through HIV/AIDS. I have experience implementing individual, group, and couples/family therapy.
In my 7 years practicing in Baton Rouge, I have found again and again that my clients were surprised by my candor, acceptance, and genuine desire to help them. To me, this is what you come to therapy for: to be received as you are without judgment, and met as a person in this world who is worthy of compassion and care. Once a true connection is made, only then can the work begin.
It is an honor to witness your story and your transformation. It is work I don’t take lightly. Thank you, Baton Rouge, for entrusting me with your most difficult times and most personal secrets. I am humbled to be on this journey with you.
Be well,
Sarah
